Starting a story on Allura takes less than a minute. Here's how to make your first one great.

1. Pick a character that fits your mood

Open the home feed and browse the characters. Each card shows a name, a short trait, and a cover. Think about the kind of story you want — romance, mystery, fantasy, or an easy slice-of-life chat — and pick a character whose vibe matches.

2. Open the conversation

Tap a character to start. You'll see an opening message that sets the scene. Read it like the first line of a story — it tells you who the character is and where you both are.

3. Reply in-character, not in commands

The biggest tip: write like you're in the scene, not like you're giving instructions. Instead of "make her happy," try "I smile and hand her the coffee I picked up on the way." The character responds to what you actually do and say, and the story grows from there.

4. Set the pace and direction

You're the co-author. If you want the story to move somewhere new — a different location, a turn in the plot, a change in mood — just steer it in your reply. The character will follow your lead while staying true to their personality.
